For those a little bit younger, 12 to 14 years old, the Circle C club provides much of the same programming, only for a younger crowd. In 2007, Elation started homeporting in San Diego (California) operating short breaks to Baja California (Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas). In the following years, the boat was also homeported in Mobile (Alabama), New Orleans (Louisiana) and Port Canaveral/Orlando (Florida). A variety of live bands entertain nightly on Carnival Elation, and virtually every musical style can be heard. The prime entertainment venue is the Japanese-inspired Mikado theater, showcasing Las Vegas-style revues and performances by individual comedians and musicians.
We liked the options and that there was plenty of seating on the ship. Our favorite place to eat casual meals was outside behind Tiffany’s Restaurant (near the rear sports bar and the pizza place). Just like a regular restaurant on land, you’ll make a reservation for dinner using the Carnival hub app on a smart phone. I have no idea what people without smartphones do to reserve their dinner time. Once your table is ready, you have ten minutes to check in. Standard Carnival Elation room amenities include two twin beds that can be pushed together to form a king, closets, drawers and shelving for storage, a hair dryer, a mini-refrigerator and a safe. An ice bucket is provided, but passengers must request ice from their stateroom steward. Carnival Elation bathrooms are rather basic, featuring showers with plastic shower curtains, except in suites, which have shower/tub combos. Toiletries include shower gel and shampoo, as well as bar soap on the vanity. The buffet, Guys Burger Joint and Blue Iguana Cantina all had great food.

Activities range from things the entire family can enjoy (like mini golf), to kid-specific activities that they can enjoy on their own, at one of the three on-board kids’ clubs. When looking for Carnival Elation things to do, you won’t be disappointed even though it doesn’t have the splashy activities of the new, larger ships. Elation shows its age in other ways too, with decor that is a blend of 1970s color and geometrics overload with garish Vegas touches, depending on which spot you're in. Even so, this doesn't distract passengers from having a good time.

Glad you had a good overall experience, had a grand time on her back in December. It was recommended by hotel, so that is what we did, but it was just the two of us in a luxury SUV 😍 AND it was only one way! We grabbed a Taxi when we got off the ship, $30.00 plus tip back to hotel.

There are a lot of spots for a drink, from the laid back Gatsby’s Great Bar to the jumping Jekyll and even Hyde Dance Club to the always-swinging Duke’s Piano Bar. The real foodies who are curious about how the galley feeds so many people, have to check out Chef's Table. For US$75 per person, you'll be able to meet the head chef and tour the galley, as well as dine on a multi-course meal at a private table, while watching the chefs at work.
